IEEE Healthcare Summit (IHS)
Integrating BHI and AI to Combat Pandemics
4-7 October 2021 | Virtual Event
On 12 March 2020, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared the COVID-19 (COronaVIrus Disease 2019) outbreak a pandemic. COVID-19 has spread to more than 200 countries, territories, and international conveyances, infected more than 220 million people and taken more than 4.5 million lives globally. The first annual IEEE Healthcare Summit will be a virtual event held on 4-7 October 2021. This event aims to report progress made in the fight against COVID-19 and in better preparations for future pandemics through the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) methods and tools with Biomedical and Health Informatics (BHI), including:
Translational bioinformatics
Sensor informatics
Imaging informatics
Clinical informatics
Public health informatics
Mental health informatics
Mixed VR/AR and Robotics
Fairness and ethics
COVID-19 Data Hackathon
The data hackathon is for all teams around the world to present and show the power of BHI and AI in combating pandemics. There are multiple datasets covering:
H1- Bioinformatics: Single Cell Sequencing
H3- Imaging Informatics (CT Imaging)
H4- Sensor Informatics (Audio Signals)
H5- Public Health Informatics (Public Health Dynamics)
Many IEEE-sponsored and individual institution-sponsored awards will be given to top-performing teams.
