Event description

IEEE is the world’s largest professional association advancing innovation and technological excellence for the benefit of humanity. IEEE and its members inspire a global community to innovate for a better tomorrow through its highly cited publications, conferences, technology standards, and professional and educational activities. IEEE is the trusted “voice” for engineering, computing and technology information around the globe.

IEEE Day is a global event to be held on the first Tuesday of October, annually. It celebrates the anniversary of the first time IEEE members gathered to share their technical ideas in 1884.

Aristotle University of Thessaloniki Student Branch will participate in the annual IEEE Day that will take place in 2 October 2018. We will join our voices with thousands of volunteers throughout the globe to promote IEEE Day’s message “Leveraging Technology for a Better Tomorrow”.

Prompted by this year’s IEEE Day, we are going to organize the two following workshops on the 10th of October 2018.

– Github: How to use it!
There will be a general presentation of Git and ways of using it. There will also be some hands-on practice for better understanding.

– IEEEXtreme Preparation
As long as IEEEXtreme is approaching, it’s about time to start our warm up! We will try to solve some IEEExtreme problems from previous years.

The workshops will take place at the General Assembly Hall in the Engineering faculty of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
