Event description

The IEEE Greece Section Educational Activities are supporting for a second year in a row the IEEE TISP Week. For this year’s TISP Week workshop, the organizing team is coming from the IEEE Student Branch Western Macedonia University of Applied Science in the city of Kastoria.

After a very successful TISP Week 2016 workshop in Greece, with more than 30 teachers having been trained in the inquiry based learning method, this year the goal has been set higher. With more than 750 teachers in 16 sections of the IEEE Region 8, having been trained during the very first TISP Week in 2016, the challenge for this year is very exciting.

TISP Week is an educational initiative started on 2016, which aims to have TISP workshops happening around the IEEE Region 8 within a specified date range. The scope on that is to have teachers of the STEM fields being trained in the inquiry based learning method, using the certified lesson plans being available at tryengineering.org in the classroom.

The educational program TISP, aims to motivate students to get closer with the STEM fields, but also to awake the hidden engineer that everyone has inside him.

In the Greece IEEE Section the TISP Week workshop will be held on Saturday November 25th, at the Western Macedonia University of Applied Science.

During the event, all participants will have the chance to learn more about what the Educational Activities are, but also what TISP is, by Mr.Stamatis Dragoumanos – Chair, IEEE Region 8 Pre-University Education Coordinating Committee / Chair, IEEE Greece Section Educational Activities.
